DEAN OF STUDENTS [READVERTISEMENT]
Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, the Dean of Students is responsible for the overall vision and effectiveness of Africa University’s student services and providing strategic initiatives and direction for the student affairs unit. The Dean of Students is responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective and quality service to students in the following areas: student housing, counselling, student conduct, and orientation; and for coordinating services specifically for international students.

LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ PROFESSOR: THE BISHOP ROY AND DR. RUTH NICHOLAS CHAIR OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES
The successful incumbent will offer instruction in Educational Technologies and is responsible for the supervision and implementation of technology initiatives in the Department of Education and related Departments in the College and University as a whole. The successful candidate should have a PhD in Educational Technology, Instructional Systems, or any other related field and be able to provide leadership in the development of strategic approaches for the integration of technology into the educational environments of the College.
PROFESSOR/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ SENIOR LECTURER- INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & INNOVATION
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), and Africa University are collaborating to offer a Master’s Degree Programme in Intellectual Property (MIP) at Africa University. The successful candidate should have an earned PhD and a proven record as a scholar in one or integrated Intellectual Property areas and Law. They should have the ability to provide leadership in the design, review and implementation of the IP curriculum to ensure relevance, suitability and appropriateness of IP for innovation and other developmental needs of African countries.
JAMES M. WALKER CHAIR: DIRECTOR FOR THE INSTITUTE OF THEOLOGY AND RELIGIOUS STUDIES
The Institute of Theology and Religious Studies is a key academic and research unit of Africa University’s College of Social Sciences, Theology, Humanities and Education. The Director will provide leadership for the Institute as well as teach and develop courses in several of the degree programs of the Institute, including online learning. Must be creative and a dynamic administrator, with strong leadership skills, solid experience and knowledge of both the church and academia. The successful candidate should have a PhD and Masters in Theology or Religious studies and should have experience in teaching Pastoral Care.
JAMES M. WALKER CHAIR OF PASTORAL CARE AND COUNSELLING
The successful candidate will offer instruction in Pastoral Care and Counselling and should be able to teach Practical Theology. The successful incumbent should have a PhD in Pastoral Care and Counselling or other closely related field. The incumbent will participate in curriculum review of current programmes as well as develop new programmes in the Institute of Theology and Religious Studies.
CHAIR OF AGRIBUSINESS: DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL SCIENCES
The successful incumbent will teach and facilitate cutting-edge and innovative research that leads to technological solutions and enterprise development in agriculture. The candidate should be a PhD holder in Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness/ or any closely related field.
DIRECTOR, ADVANCEMENT AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS
The Director is responsible for leading and managing all functions of the Office of Advancement and Public Affairs (OSPA). He/she will ensure the effective and efficient execution of efforts to grow philanthropic investment in the university from African sources. Key areas of focus/responsibility include resource mobilization across Africa (making friends and raising funds for Africa University), public affairs, marketing, and alumni relations.
UNIVERSITY CHAPLAIN
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, The Chaplain is responsible for creating programmes and activities aimed at enhancing the spiritual life of the University community which includes Staff and Students.
FLEET AND FACILITIES MANAGER
The main purpose of the job is to ensure that the University has a fleet that is functional and serviceable to meet all transport needs of the University community. In addition, the role is responsible for supervising contractors on repairs, renovations and building projects and preparing a scheduled maintenance plan for buildings.
ASSISTANT REGISTRAR-ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
The role ensures that the recruitment, admissions, registration and examinations of the University are well run. In addition, the role plays a critical role in managing student records, planning academic events and processing certificates and transcripts.
