MUHAS Entry Requirements Diploma & Adv. Diploma Programmes

 A. DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

MUHAS, through its Institute of Allied Health Sciences, offers the following Diploma programmes: –

  1. Advanced Diploma in Dermatovereology – (ADDV)
  2. Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography (DDR)
  3. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences (DMLS)
  4. Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences (DPS)
  5. Diploma in Nursing (DN)
  6. Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences (DEHS)
  7. Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology (DOT)

N.B
(a)    DEHS programme is taught at Muhimbili Campus, Tanga Campus and Mpwapwa Campus. Applicants for the DEHS programme may therefore be selected into any of these campuses.

(b)    The ADDV and DOT programmes are taught at the Regional Dermatovenereology Training Centre (RDTC) and Tanzania Training Centre for Orthopaedic Technology (TATCOT), respectively. Both centers are located at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC). Applications for admission into these two programmes are open to candidates from outside Tanzania.

(c)    Application for the various Diploma programmes are made through the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) Central Admission System.

(e) Qualifications for admission into the various MUHAS Diploma programmes are indicated in the MUHAS prospectus which is posted on the University website www.muhas.ac.tz

B.    MODE OF APPLICATION

i)    Applicants for Diploma Programs

Applicants for Diploma Programs are required to apply through the NACTE Central Admission System (CAS)

Applicants must:
(i)    Carefully read and understand the Program Admission requirements
(ii)    Make an informed choice of the programme applied for, taking into account the competition, one’s passes as well as career aspirations.
(iii)    Ensure the names and index numbers used during application for admission matches with those used during their studies
(iv)    Give correct particulars of citizenship
(v)    Pay a non-refundable application fee of TZS. 50,000/= for Tanzanians and USD 30 for International Applicants. All transfer charges for International applicants must be borne by the applicants themselves
(vi)    Ascertain themselves that they possess the minimum entrance qualifications before they pay the fees as the fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Important Information:
(i)    The number of applicants in each program will influence the cut-off points for admission into the respective programme and School.
(ii)    Applicants will therefore be selected to join the University based on their qualifications and fulfilment of entry requirements.
(iii)    Applicants are informed that it is an offence to submit false information for admission. Any candidate who will be discovered to have submitted false information will NOT be considered and appropriate legal action will be taken against them
