Requirements
- A Trade-tested Artisan in Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
- Ability to work under poor light conditions and in confined spaces
- Physically fit to work on ladders, scaffolding and machine-driven lifting equipment
- A valid driver’s licence.
Key Performance Areas
- Maintenance and repairs of electrical and electronic measuring instrumentation and control equipment on sewerage plants and pump stations within Water and Sanitation, e.g. level controls, pressure and temperature measuring instruments, etc.
- Perform design sketches for fabrication of plant components
- Propose designs or modifications to improve equipment capabilities
- Liaise and plan jobs with operations in order to prevent disturbances in the process
- Carry out planned maintenance schedules through routine equipment inspections
- Analyse equipment failures and perform remedial actions to prevent recurrence
- Ensure details of activities are accurately recorded to facilitate the processing of information related to the productivity of personnel, time and material allocation as well as utilisation for specific assignments
- Supervise and control staff and contractors
- Work independently and without supervision.
