UNB Continuing Students Scholarship 2024 Application Details

Continuing students need to apply every year between Jan 1 – April 15 to be considered for scholarship support.

Who can apply?

You’re eligible to apply if:

  • You’re planning to enroll full time in each of the fall and winter terms at UNB in an undergraduate degree program in the upcoming year
  • You’ve completed 24 credit hours at UNB in the previous assessment year (May to April). For scholarship consideration, grades must appear on the UNB transcript by May 30 regardless of delivery method.
  • You’ve participated in an official UNB co-op or exchange program

How to apply

  1. Log into myUNB
  2. Scroll down to the “Scholarship, Prizes and Awards” header
  3. Click on “Apply for Continuing Scholarships” link
  4. Complete the application and click submit by April 15. Late applications will be accepted until May 15. If funding permits, these applications will be reviewed before classes begin in September.

Successful applicants will be notified via email in mid August.

How recipients are selected

Scholarships are awarded primarily on grades (scholarship GPA) however, some may have additional conditions such as: financial need, extracurricular activities, the high school you attended etc. Scholarships reflect the goals and values of the donor.

Additional awards

Aside from the undergraduate scholarship application, continuing students can apply for the following awards as indicated below. These applications ask for additional information about you which directly affects the awarding decision.

Students who have completed at least two years of their undergraduate degree program and have achieved Dean’s list in the previous year are eligible to apply. Selection is based on academic achievement and involvement in the university and community.

The application is available in myUNB (Scholarships, Prizes & Awards) from Sept. 1 to Oct. 30. Recipients are notified via email in January.

Students from all disciplines can apply for the $10,000 Leslie E. Bruce Environmental Scholarship. Your application must demonstrate environmental leadership. This scholarship is tenable while you are on an official exchange.

The application is available in myUNB under Scholarships, Prizes and Awards from Jan. 1 to March 1.

Dalhousie Medical Scholarships

The following awards are open to UNB graduates beginning the Dalhousie Medical program, hosted at UNB Saint John. Please email awards@unb.ca for the application, which covers all scholarships below. Deadline to apply is June 30.

One scholarship valued at $4,000 will be awarded. Selection is based on financial need and scholastic attainment.

Donor: Dr. Richard W. Winter, BSc from UNB (’53) and MD, CM from Dalhousie University (’58) to honour his late wife Lynne (Lordly) Winter, a graduate from the School of Nursing, V.G.H., Halifax (’56). Dr. Winter interned at the Saint John General Hospital from ‘57-58.

One scholarship valued at $3,000 will be awarded. The recipient must be a graduate of a New Brunswick high school and a New Brunswick resident. Selection is based on scholastic achievement and financial need.

One scholarship valued at approximately $8,000 will be awarded. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need. The recipient must be a New Brunswick resident.

Donor: Dr. Margot R. Roach (BSc’55, DSc’81) and the New Brunswick University Opportunities Fund.
