University of Dodoma (UDOM) Graduation Ceremony Schedule of Events.
The University of Dodoma 9th Graduation Ceremony will be held on 22nd and 23rd November, 2018. The ceremony will be preceded by a Research and Innovation Week starting from 14th November 2018 and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the University of Dodoma Convocation and prize giving ceremony to be held on 21st November, 2018.
The Ceremony is scheduled as follows:
Thursday 22nd November, 2018
• College of Education (COED),
• College of Health Sciences (CHS),
• College of Informatics and Virtual Education (CIVE),
• College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences (CNMS) and
• College of Earth Sciences (COES).
Friday 23rd November, 2018
• College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS)
• College of Business Studies and Law (CBSL)
Venue and time:
All activities will be held at Chimwaga Hall, UDOM starting at 1.00 p.m. and will be for candidates who have successfully completed their studies and qualified for various awards of the University of Dodoma for the academic year 2017/2018. Participation in the Graduation Ceremony:
• Graduands are required to confirm their intention to participate by Friday 16th November, 2018 through UDOMSR system by paying a non-refundable fee of TZS 40,000. For those who shall need accommodation at UDOM Hostels, they should pay additional five thousand Tanzanian Shillings (TZS. 5,000) per each day.
• Interested graduands can be accommodated into the UDOM Students Hostels by paying 5,000 TZS per person per day.
Payment can be made upfront through CRDB bank, NMB bank, Tigo Pesa, M-Pesa and Airtel Money using a control number given UDOM-SR system. The information on how to effect payments is available in the graduands’ UDOM-SR accounts.
• Graduation gowns shall be collected at Chimwaga between 19th and 21st November 2018 starting from 10.00 a.m. All gowns should be returned before the end of the fifth day after the graduation ceremony; Failure to comply shall attract a penalty of ten thousand Tanzanian Shillings (TZS. 10,000) per each extra day.
A penalty of three hundred thousand Tanzanian Shillings (TZS. 300,000) shall be levied for not returning the graduation gown and certificates will be withheld until the payment of the penalty is done.
• Agreement forms for hiring of Graduation Gowns will be available in the graduands’ UDOM-SR account. Graduands are required to download the agreement forms. Filled agreement forms must be witnessed by a Magistrate/Commissioner for Oaths. The agreements will be submitted upon the collection of gowns. Graduands are informed that; Lawyers will be available at the collection point to provide the required service to interested graduands for two thousand five hundred Tanzanian
Shillings (TZS. 2,500) only.
Rehearsal:
• All attending graduands SHALL participate in a rehearsal that will be held at the Chimwaga on the day of graduation starting at 8:00 a.m. Attendance to the rehearsal is mandatory for all graduands intending to participate in the graduation ceremony.
• Graduands who will not participate in the rehearsal will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony; instead, the awards will be conferred in absentia.
• All graduands shall meet their own travel, lodging and incidental expenses.
NOTE: Failure or late confirmation will prevent interested graduands from participating in the Graduation Ceremony.
