SATELLITE OPERATIONS
Comprises a diverse portfolio of operations that includes a 3 000 km network of natural gas, methane-rich gas, chemicals and fuel pipeline infrastructure, a wax blending plant and two explosives operations. In addition, we are responsible for operating assets owned by two joint ventures, namely the Republic of Mozambique Pipeline Investment Company (ROMPCO) and Sasol Dyno Nobel (SDN).
ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Execution of electrical maintenance activities on Cathodic Protection Equipment
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
- Management of small maintenance projects
- Knowledge of electrical motors
- Inspection of rectifiers and fault-finding
- External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA) on pipelines to determine the coating defects to be repaired
- Investigation of high/low potentials on the pipeline to determine the effectiveness of Cathodic Protection
- Assist service providers in identifying the depth of cover on the pipelines where third parties are involved
- Report all deviations identified within the vicinity of the Gas Pipelines
- Assist with development of systems and procedures
- Assist with technical investigations
- Conduct all work in a manner that constitutes ZERO HARM to people, plant and environment
- Adhere to Sasol Satellite Operations safety policies and rules
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Preference will be given to applicants from Nelspruit area
Qualifications and Expertise Required (Must)
- National Senior Certificate (Grade12) with Maths, Science & English or N3 Electrical
- Electrical trade test certificate (Red Seal)
- Driver’s license code B
- NACE CP1 will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 2 years electrical maintenance experience
- Ability to do fault finding on equipment
- Basic CP knowledge is an advantage
