About False Bay TVET College

There are five graduate internship positions available across different departments and NQF levels:

  • Student Support Services (NQF Level 7): 2 posts, with a stipend of R7,500 per month. Placements are at Mitchell’s Plain or Khayelitsha campuses.
  • Student Support Services (NQF Level 6): 2 posts, with a stipend of R6,000 per month. Placements are at Westlake or Muizenberg campuses.
  • Open Learning Centre (NQF Level 6): 1 post, with a stipend of R6,000 per month. Placement is at the Fish Hoek campus.

Programme Duration and Location

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for these internships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be unemployed graduates at the time of application.
  • Have no criminal record.
  • Be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Specific qualification requirements vary by position:

  • NQF Level 7 Posts: A SAQA-recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Applied Social Science, Social Sciences, Community Development, or counselling-related fields.
  • NQF Level 6 Posts: An NQF Level 6 qualification in Counselling and Communication Skills, Psychology, Applied Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, Social Sciences, Community Development, Youth Development, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Open Learning Centre Posts (NQF Level 6): Preference will be given to graduates with NQF Level 6 qualifications in Library and Information Studies, Information and Communications Technology, or Information Technology.

Competencies Required

The college is looking for candidates who possess strong foundational skills:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
