Artists in Asia and the Pacific have a new chance to blend creativity with social change. The APWLD Uprising / Art Rising Feminist Artivism Fellowship 2026 offers fully funded support worth $3,000. This program helps feminist artists create works that highlight women’s rights, justice issues, and community struggles.

About APWLD

The Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development, or APWLD, leads feminist efforts in the region. It has over 313 members from 31 countries and territories. APWLD focuses on women’s human rights, building feminist movements, and promoting development justice. The group challenges inequalities through research, advocacy, and creative projects. It also supports grassroots activism and strengthens solidarity among feminists.

Fellowship Overview

This fellowship builds on a 2025 art exhibition called “On Debt Row” in Spain. That event looked at debt’s effects on women in the Global South. Now, APWLD expands it into a regional program for artists. Fellows work with activists and groups to make art about real-life issues. The goal is to use art for advocacy, education, and movement-building.

Key Benefits

Fellows receive a $3,000 stipend for their projects and expenses. This covers production costs based on approved proposals. Other perks include training in feminist analysis, mentorship from APWLD experts, and links to grassroots groups. Artists gain networking, event access, and exposure. Their work gets shown in Bangkok and promoted on APWLD platforms.

Duration

The program runs from June 2026 to November 2026. During this time, fellows collaborate online and in person. A key event happens in October 2026 in Bangkok.
