Internship Details
The Council for Geoscience, based in Pretoria, Gauteng, runs this fixed-term program. It targets unemployed graduates with no work experience needed. Interns report to the HR Manager and work at the head office. The focus areas include HR administration, recruitment, employee relations, and training.
Main Duties
Interns handle a range of tasks to build practical skills.
Recruitment Support
You will screen job applications and schedule interviews. Prepare packs for new hires and help with onboarding. Also, conduct checks before employment.
HR Administration
Support payroll and benefits for staff. Keep HR records and databases up to date. File documents and set up meetings or events.
Learning and Development
Help run training programs. Support plans to grow employee skills.
Employee Relations
Deal with staff issues related to HR. Aid in programs that boost workplace morale.
Project Support
Work on special HR projects like wellness or performance reviews.
Quality Assurance
Make sure all work follows company policies and standards. Stick to ISO guidelines and best practices.
Who Can Apply
You need a Grade 12 certificate. Also, a National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in Human Resources Management, Human Resources Development, or a similar field. No experience is required.

- Employment Equity Act (EEA)
- Skills Development Act (SDA)
Key skills include organization, meeting deadlines, communication, attention to detail, MS Office use, and teamwork. Show a willingness to learn.
