Programme Details

Minimum Requirements

To apply, you need a Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science. You also must have a full N3 qualification in these subjects: Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Mechano-Technology (Trade Theory), and Engineering Drawing.

Additional Requirements

You must be medically fit for mine work. This includes passing a Heat Tolerance Screening test and meeting all health rules for the job. Only those who pass these checks can join.

Host Community Requirement

You need to live in one of these areas: Bekkersdaal, Zuurberkom, Thusanang, Hillshaven, Westonaria, Poortjie, Simunye, Kalbasfontein, Jachtfontein, or Westonaria Borwa. Proof of where you live might be asked for.

What You Will Learn

Trainees get technical training to become fitters. You will practice fitting and machining on the job. The program also covers safety skills and workplace rules, all aligned with MQA standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will finish all training modules. Follow safety rules and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) every time. Keep up good performance, work as a team, and follow company policies.
