Joburg City Theatres Youth Development Internships 2026: A Detailed Look

Joburg City Theatres (JCT) is offering exciting internship opportunities for unemployed South African youth. These positions are designed to provide valuable practical experience in youth development within the arts sector. This program aims to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge, paving the way for future career growth. The application deadline is May 21, 2026.

Understanding the Joburg City Theatres Internship Programme

The JCT Youth Development Internship Programme is open to young South Africans who are eager to gain hands-on experience. The program is structured to offer experiential learning, which is often a requirement for academic qualifications or career advancement. Internships can last up to 24 months, providing a substantial period for skill development and professional exposure.

To be eligible for these internships, applicants must meet several criteria. They need to be South African citizens, aged between 18 and 35 years old, and reside within Johannesburg communities. A key requirement is that applicants should not have previously participated in an internship program, unless it was unrelated to their field of study. This ensures that the opportunities are accessible to those who genuinely need this foundational experience.
