About the Road Accident Fund (RAF)

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is a public entity that provides compulsory social cover to all South African citizens and resident foreigners who are victims of road traffic accidents. It compensates victims for death or bodily injury resulting from accidents occurring within the borders of South Africa. Available RAF Internship Opportunities

The RAF is offering a total of four internship positions across two key areas:

  • Facilities Management Internship – 1 post
  • Medical Management Internships – 3 posts

Programme Duration and Location

The internship programmes are scheduled to run for 18 months. All available positions are based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This location offers a dynamic environment for interns to gain experience within the RAF’s operations.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for these internships:

  • Age: Between 18 and 25 years old.
  • Citizenship: Must be unemployed South African citizens.
  • Previous Experience: No previous work experience in the relevant field is required for Facilities Management. Applicants for Medical Management must not have previously worked in Medical Management or served as an intern.
  • Qualifications:
  • Facilities Management: Certified Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 certificate, and a certified relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management or a related discipline.
  • Medical Management: Certified Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 certificate, and a certified NQF Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Health Sciences or a medical-related field.
  • Documentation: Certified copy of South African ID, certified academic transcript, and a CV.
  • Professional Registration: For Medical Management, a certified professional registration certificate (e.g., HPCSA, SANC, SAPC) is required.
  • Foreign Qualifications: If you have foreign qualifications, they must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), and proof of evaluation must be provided.
