The management of the St Joseph Teachers’ College (SJTC) has released the Intake entry requirements for successful admission into the undergraduate and postgraduate (Degree, Ph.D., Masters, Diploma, Certificate, Short Course, and Non-Degree) programmes respectively for the 2023/2024 academic year.
St Joseph Teachers’ College Admission Requirements
Interested students may apply to any of the St Joseph Teachers’ College Courses at any time and are admitted subject to fulfilling all St Joseph Teachers’ College admission entry requirements for the 2023/2024 academic year.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
CSEC/GCE/SSC
– English Language
– Mathematics
– Social Science
– Natural Science
– and any other academic subject
CSEC General – Grades 1, 2 & 3*
GCE – Grades A, B or C
SSC – Grades 4 & 5
* Grades 1& 2 in Mathematics is accepted for the B.Ed. Primary Education programme
* Grades 1, 2 & 3 in Mathematics is accepted for the B.Ed. Early Childhood Education programme
* Candidates seeking entry into the Early Childhood programme may also use the NCTVET level II qualification in Early Childhood as one of the 5 subjects required for matriculation
ENGLISH LANGUAGE
MATHEMATICS
A SCIENCE SUBJECT (Human and Social Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science, Physics, Food and Nutrition, or any other science subject in this category)
A SOCIAL SCIENCE SUBJECT (Social Studies, History, Religious Studies, Geography, English Literature, Spanish, French or any other social science subject)
MATURE CANDIDATES:
30 years and older
5 years teaching experience at the Early Childhood level
CXC English Language and one other academic subject
