Available Positions

SAST has four types of internships open. Here are the details for each one.

Graphic Designer Internship (1 Position)

This role is in the SAST TV department. You report to the Associate Producer. It runs for 12 months.

You need a National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in Graphic Design or a related field. Zero to one year of experience is fine. A portfolio in PDF or as a link is required.

In this job, you will create visuals for TV projects. It helps you practice design skills in a live theatre environment.

Producer Internship (1 Position)

Also in SAST TV, reporting to the Associate Producer. Duration is 12 months.

Requirements include a National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in Media, Film & TV Production, Performing Arts, Theatre Production, Communication, or Journalism. Up to one year of experience counts.

You will assist with planning and running TV productions. This builds your ability to manage creative projects from start to finish.

Sound Technician Internship (1 Position)

Found in the Stages department, reporting to the Senior Production Manager. It lasts 12 months.

A National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in Sound or a related area is needed. You can have zero to two years of experience.

Your tasks include setting up audio for stage shows. You learn to handle live sound in a professional theatre.

Videographer Internship (2 Positions)

These are in the Stages department, reporting to the Senior Production Manager. Each lasts 12 months.

You need a National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in Film and Television or equivalent. Zero to two years of experience is okay.

Work involves filming stage events and editing footage. It gives hands-on practice in video production for arts performances.

General Requirements for All Positions

Every internship shares some basic needs. You must have a National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in a matching field. Experience from zero to two years is accepted.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team are key. South African unemployed graduates fit the target group best.
