taz Panter Foundation Workshop 2026 for African Journalists (Fully-funded)

Applications are now open for the taz Panter Foundation Workshop 2026 for African Journalists (Fully-funded). The deadline is March 25, 2026. This program invites 16 journalists from specific African countries to join a hybrid workshop called Global Powers, Local Realities – Africa’s Future Amid Global Power Plays and the Fight for Self-Rule. It starts with Zoom seminars in April 2026 and ends with in-person sessions in Berlin and Brussels in September. The goal is to help journalists grow their skills while creating a bilingual magazine and podcast. This article covers the costs, eligibility rules, and how to apply.

The workshop runs as a hybrid program. It begins in April 2026 with five months of joint Zoom seminars. Then, in September 2026, participants attend a 12-day in-person phase in Berlin and Brussels. During this time, the group will work together to produce a bilingual print magazine in German and English. They will also create a four-part podcast series. The Panter Foundation from the German newspaper taz in Berlin runs this for print, TV, radio, and online journalists.
