University of Cape Town (UCT) Fees Payment Method

The University of Cape Town (UCT) Fee Structure 2025 includes all the amounts payable so you can study and graduate on time. It is important for undergraduate students to note that tuition fees differ between faculties.

International students should note that the registration and tuition fees that apply to them differ slightly from those of local students.

For postgraduate, short courses, and masters students: as a returning student, your fees may differ from those of an undergraduate student.

Please note that the University of Cape Town (UCT) will never ask you for personal information such as passwords, usernames, credit card details, or PIN codes. Use your ID number as a reference. Please ensure you have read and understood the registration and application terms and conditions.

Fees may be paid using the following methods:

  • Debit cards
  • Credit cards
  • Bank deposit
  • Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

Debit Cards

Debit card payments are only accepted if you register in person at the University of Cape Town (UCT)

Credit Cards

Credit cards are restricted to ‘Visa’ and ‘MasterCard’. All the requirements under ‘Particulars of Payment’ on the registration form must be supplied. The cardholder’s signature is also required on the registration form.

Bank deposits (SA Banks only) or EFT payments:

Should any of the information on the bank deposit slip be incomplete or incorrect, the bank will not process the transaction and/or cause a delay in allocating the funds to your account. Amounts will be allocated within 2 working days to the study fee account, provided all the information on the deposit slip is correct.
