Minimum Requirements

  • Must have achieved a minimum overall academic average of 65% at tertiary level.
  • Must be pursuing one of the eligible fields of study listed above.

  • Motivation letter explaining the desire to join the VWGA Bursary Programme.
  • Recent certified copy of parent or guardian’s South African ID, or death certificate if applicable (less than three months old).
  • Comprehensive CV.
  • Completed online application form.

Students already studying at tertiary level must also provide:

  • Certified full academic records for all years of tertiary study (less than three months old).
  • Latest or June 2026 official academic transcript (less than three months old).
  • Certified Matric certificate (less than three months old).
  • 2026 official university fee statements.
  • Certified proof of 2026 registration.
  • Lease agreement if staying in off-campus accommodation.

Other supporting documents may include:

  • Bursary agreement, funding letter, or offer if funded by another bursary or NSFAS.
  • Department of Labour Employment Equity Act EEA1 form and doctor’s diagnosis letter if the applicant has a disability.
  • A 2027 acceptance letter from an accredited institution, if available.
