Applications are open for the WFP Rwanda × Impact Hub Kigali IGNITE Challenge 4.0. This program comes from a partnership between the World Food Programme and Mastercard Foundation. It helps young people build strong careers in Rwanda’s agriculture and agribusiness.
The challenge offers up to $24,000 in equity-free funding. It picks up to six scalable ventures in agrifood value chains. These ventures focus on job creation for young women. They tackle issues like boosting production, better post-harvest handling, finance access, and market links. Later sections cover benefits, who can apply, how judges pick winners, and how to submit.
This is Ignite 4.0 under a five-year partnership. The goal is sustainable livelihoods in agriculture and agribusiness. It speeds up growth-stage ventures in Rwanda’s agrifood sector. Ventures address key problems such as higher production, improved post-harvest steps, better finance options, and stronger market access. The program stresses jobs, mainly for young women. It also links with Farmer Service Centres (FSCs).
Benefits

Eligibility
- Valid business registration in Rwanda with at least 2 years of operation
- Revenue-generating business with proven market traction
- Team of at least three full-time members, including founders
- At least 50% of founding or senior team from Rwanda or East Africa
- Existing key operations in Rwanda
- Commitment to mentor peers and Farmer Service Centers (FSCs)
