About MUST Students Organisation
Mbeya University of Science and Technology Students Organisation (MUSTSO) is provided for by University Charter. The aim is to provide students with experience and training in a democratic form of government. The organisation is charged with the duty of continuously expanding and coordinating students’ activities, stimulating interest and support in the development, assessment and execution of educational, social, cultural and recreational programs. It also seeks to develop communication amongst students, administration and departments. The organization is further intended to inculcate in the students a sense of integrity, self respect, devotion, commitment and accountability to the Tanzanian society and mankind they are bound to serve.
MUSTSO in collaboration with the office of Dean of Students liaises with relevant University Organs to organize debates, seminars, study tours and symposia to enhance intellectual awareness of the student community. Student’s government Executive arm is composed of two voting members- President and Vice President. Non-voting members of the MUSTSO Executive government include: the Prime Minister, the General Secretary and Ministers. Other organs of MUSTSO are the Students’ Parliament and the Judicial Organ.
